Lovers and fighters have something to say today. It’s Valentine’s !
Not a common day. Valentine’s is a multipurpose day. Retail loves the chance to have a bestseller day, specially regarding to chocolates, flowers and restaurant dates. Lovers get the chance of having 24 hours for them and for fighters, this is a whole day to rant against advertisers.
Who was Valentine
The thing is that this day, long awaited by many, commemorates the courage of a Roman doctor who, in the third century, ruling the Emperor Claudius “The Gothic”, became a priest and married soldiers in secret. The emperor had prohibited marriages because he considered them absolutely incompatible with the military career. Once Valentine’s “crime” was discovered, Claudio ordered the priest to be beheaded.
Losing his life for the sake of love made him a saint before the eyes of the world and for that reason he remembers it every February 14th
Regardless of whether or not it is a commercial date, devoting at least a day to think about love (a-mor/ non-death), the force that brings the universe together, well worth it.
To celebrate all kinds of love, will always a good idea, not only during Valentine’s but the whole year.
